I want to offer a prize drawing to game related blog sites for posting a blog about one of my sites. What would be the best way to reach these sites?

forums, by far. And the more official the forums the better.

Not talking about Some-gamer-clans-forums.com

Talking about playstation.com, xbox.com, ign.com, 1up.com, g4tv.com, ea.com, etc. The closer the forum is to the manufacturer or publisher, the better. These sites are soiled dirty with gamer traffic. When I was doing my PSP blog, the US playstation forum brought me more traffic than digg.

These sites truly are a dirty secret for gamer traffic if you use them right. They are also more likely to spot a troll so its hard to self-promote. Sig links are the norm, so if you build the community usually the sig links bring you the best traffic. Good luck, these forums can quickly overwhelm.

Nice tip. I frequent some of the downstream IGN forums, but never thought about going to the sources like that.

Thanks A Ton!

If you noticed, many fan websites are linked with tens of other websites of the kind (affiliates). By finding a few huge ones, you could easily come in contact with many. I've seen a situation once in ZeldaUniverse.net where ZU's webmaster posted something regarding a website, which spread and eventually ZU's affiliate sites' webmasters were also posting about the same site. Pretty interesting stuff.
