Promotion: Where to spend $50.00

:dots:
After working on a few things, I want to spend a small amount of money that has been budgeted for www.photoshopchop.com
We seem to have a low Google PR compared to the traffic we get but it never seems to go up. Should we try to increase our backlinks somehow?
Are there other areas $50.00 could help us in our promotional efforts?
Topic: photoshop/automotive/photo manipulation
Audience: Our current visitors seem to be majority around 12 to 25.
How can we better monetize our site? Article submissions? Paid text links? Adwords campaigns? Find someone to feature us in a blog/newsletter? Yahoo directory inclusion($300?)?, Other??
Who here has the best suggestion to make the best out of our little $50.00?

Thanks.
Adwords might be an option but we're hoping that there might be a better way to spend money right now then a conversion goal of forum membership. I think this might be the more difficult and less effective options for our type of site?
We do have adsense on the site.

Use a directory submission service.
If I read correctly, there is a member here that submits to 300 directories for $50
The other thing you can do is to employ an article writer and write a unique article to be submitted to article sites.

I have to disagree with this one. These directory submission services, in my experience, have never been worth the money. Worry about the big 3-4 and maybe put your money towards a yahoo express submission or direct XML feed. Or bribe a DMOZ editor :-D

hmm, $50 isnt worth spending on Adwords, they would fly away in no time, especially if you target some popular keywords, I would look for a designers community, get a top banner there, or maybe buy some text links on a number of designer forums in visible locations.

this is not always the case... depends on what you are targeting for some of my sites $50 lasts 3 days and gets me 1000 visitors! but all depends on your target

Don't spend it. Save it and continue to save up until you have enough to launch a good advertising campaign.

Yeah I agree that directory submissions arent really worth the pay. But writing an article or press release about your new site/community will get you a lot of backlinks if it is written right.
And dave I will send 1000 for 10000.. sounds great..lol. If you can do 4 for 40 even better, lmao

Is there a press release service that is less then $50.00? I'm not familiar with how it works but it always seems that press releases reach the far corners of the Internet so I'd be interested in this.
