Within the next few days I will be launching a website similar to ScriptSHOCK, which is a half decent website. However, I feel I will be offering better quality scripts and other services that should increase the revenue of the site.

Now, I've never managed or marketed a site like this before and I was wondering what you guys think the best way to market the site would be?

A companion blog, technorati tags, daily posts, google sitemap plug-in.

Word of mouth works best for sites like this and advertisement at webmaster related forums and websites will do for you.

Forum signitures in webmaster forums

Here's what I would do. I'd go to all webmaster forums and post a thread about the services in the appropriate advertising section. Then, I would set up a few turnkey sites with the scripts running on it and sell it in the marketplace. If the scripts are good, it'll build up buzz from the turnkey developers, and other webmasters too.

Submit each of your scripts to the following scripts directories
hotscripts.com
scripts.com
advancescripts.com
scriptgateway.com
sitescripts.com
cgiexpo.com
scriptsbank.com
scriptsearch.com
allthescripts.com
- and there are some more but I've somehow lost my original list.

Those sites will bring in a decent amount of traffic in the start and they'll also provide you with a little bit of link love.
