Well, today (about 40minutes ago), I posted one of my site (The Ether Directory) to StumbleUpon. Now this site gets about 10 uniques a day (don't laugh! I'm a beginner!. But for the past 40 minutes, I've gotten 68 unique hits =) Just though some could use the info. Oh and if you don't know what StumbleUpon is:

Ya I have got some decent traffic from there before.

I actually like it better than Digg.

Gamers Radio was picked up by them. I'd get an extra 40-50 visitors a month from it. It was cool to know someone liked me enough to put it up there. :-)

Ya..I just noticed

Yeah, I got like 700 hits from it one day, then gone the next.

I've got a few sites that have been getting consistant stumbleupon traffic.

<qualifier>The following is based only on my experience</qualifier>
StumbleUpon is good only if you have an exceptional, very unique, or viral site. If you install the toolbar and go stumbling around you'll notice what types of sites are getting the traffic - it needs to be special somehow just like any other social bookmarking system.

SU traffic also converts like crap but leads to more social bookmark and blog love. The user comments are useful for finding new ideas.

I think you need something unique as Think says otherwise the traffic will stop after a few days, maybe even a few hours.

A few weeks ago I got my first visitors from SU and the visitors have steadily increased every day. I did not submit the site to SU so it must have been a visitor to my site. This is a very unique site that serves a niche audience and I am loving the traffic I am getting from SU so far.

I had about 300 visitors from stumbleupon in a week.Not too bad.

They have paid advertising too where they show your site to targeted stumblers. I just tried a campaign but because my model is so unique and since I don't sell anything, it's almost impossible for me to track the quality of traffic or ROI.
So yes I got traffic, but I'm not sure how good it was.
