I'm trying to get into email lists and that sort of thing, and there's a lot to learn.

Can anyone recommend a good email autoresponder? I need something that'll receive an email and then send a response 2-3 days later, but I'm such a noobie with this stuff that I don't even know what to search for with google.

Searching for "email autoresponder" brings up a bunch of products, but I just have no clue if any of them are what I need.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me!

Aweber is the way to go. I am using it and am pretty happy with it.

I've recently bought the Parabots.com auto-responder. Unlike Aweber and the like you actually buy this software and stick it on your own server.

It costs $50 (that's to buy it outright rather than paying $20 a month) and it's pretty good. I've yet to really use it anger as the product I'm developing it totally finished but it's performed flawlessly in all the testing that I've done (and it's a lot).

You can create multiple auto-responders and multiple (infinite actually) messages for each auto-responder. You can set the time delay after each messages from anything from 1 day upwards.

It can handle the normal first name, email address type signups but you can also add custom fields as well.

It's written in Perl which is not a lanuage that I'm that familiar with (I'm more a PHP kind of a guy) and I did have a problem getting it to install but a quick email to the developer sorted out the problem - in fact he installed it for me for no extra cost.

Highly recommended and, at just $50, a steal.

You can find out more about the script and see a demo of the backend from the Parabots.com website. I'll be writing a review for my blog in the next few weeks, if you want to drop me a PM I'll email you when the full review is up on-line.

I have used GetResponse for 2 years and it is great. Very professional, flexible and reliable. The Pro version gives full customer support too, as well as ads.
