Let me know if you think this is a good idea. This is what I am going to do:

Anyone who subscribes to my site with their email address will have a chance to win a 50% share of all revenue earned on the site from today until there are 1 Million RSS subscribers. Once the Million mark is met I will hold a draw and one lucky winner will receive 50% of all revenue earned on the site.

I think it's an interesting and original idea, go for it. 1 million does seem pretty high but you never know.. Maybe add a prize amount / subscriber counter and be very careful not to violate any of your sponsors TOS's. I'd stay away from contextual PPC ads for sure.

That's creative, but you're going to have to offer other incentives along the way as most people don't like to think about something so far off, but they rather want something right now.

Yeah, I don't know about 50%. Perhaps you should lower it to a fourth instead. Half of your revenue seems too much for me. Just remember, if people find out you're for real and they can earn money, the system should "boom" no matter what.

1 million IMHO is a far fetched subscriptions and besides it requires lot of money also and not to mention bandwidth as well.

Hi, 1 million subscribers is definitive an objective that cannot be met with a simple blog. So you are never going to have actually part with your money. A great idea!
The e-mail database is going to be more worth than the whole site, I guess.
Don't want to discourage you. Good luck with your efforts!

Very bold outcome. 50% sounds too much, may want to reduce that. However good luck mate

i recommend you reduce it to 1000... but don't share your lifetime revenue... maybe revenue for 3 months

Just to clarify I am really not in this for the money. I just want to see if the feedburner feedcounter goes to 1 Million.

I figured if I could share a bit of the wealth along the way that would keep people interested in subscribing.

Once there is any revenue generated for the site I will post it on the header. As for the subscriptions I have a feedburner counter on the site.

And the only ads on the site will probably be Affiliate links not PPC.

Oh yeah, I believe you. Ever thought about asking the Feedburner's staff directly? :-)
