MySpace Marketing for forums! IT WORKS! The best $15.00 I've spent ever!

I am just so amazed right now. I just paid someone $15.00 to promote a forum of mine on MySpace. I have just received 70 new members in the past 15 minutes and there are over 100 people online.
My forum is based around hip hop dancing and is only open to registered users.
This is my first time paying for myspace promotion and all I can say is I'm... just.... I just can't believe it
The site is http://www.pimpmywalk.com
Username: demo
Pass: demo
I hired someone on www.screennameforum.com
All I know is I'm going to be buying more bulletins for sure. Look for codeuber on www.screennameforum.com
Not affiliated with them in anyway. Just can't believe what I'm seeing, and I only paid $15.00!
People are still continuing to join! That was the BEST $15.00 I've ever spent in my life believe it or not. You guys have no idea how happy I am right now..

No problem.
There have been around 170 members that have now joined and the number continues to rise. It's definitely a great bargain. Think about it this way guys, Lee managed to get 2,000 members to his forum in a few weeks, mainly through a contest that involves $20,000 in prizes. Well, on the other hand, I spent $15.00 and managed to get 170 members to my forum in less than 30 minutes.
Think about it guys. This is definitely something to consider.

That guy on SNF is doing something that may be illegal.

It's not illegal to sell screen names... meaning you won't go to jail.. but many of the websites and services that these screen names are for do not allow the sale of them. You could get your newly purchased account closed down.
And I believe Skribblez is talking about advertising on MySpace profiles, not actually buying the profiles, at least from what I understood from the post.

The guy on Screen Name Forum uses phished accounts and a program he made to post 1 bulletin/account - sending out 5,000 bulletins on 5,000 different accounts.
Is that illegal?

I'm not sure if it's illegal... but certainly unethical.

That actually wouldn't matter if you did something smarter like Azoogle CPA.

Posting members are usually return visitors - in which case it would matter.

Nice site idea, very marketable to the myspace crowd. VERY!
But I agree with what was said. If your goal is to build a forum, sure youve got some quick members but from what I saw they havent been too active.
Either they dont know how to use the forums or something scared them off perhaps?
Just something to keep in mind, the QUALITY of members you have gained is a factor too. Posting members are much much better than just blank signups with 0 posts.
Part of the reason I dont like forcing members to join a forum before they can read it. I like to let them register when they want to talk, not just to see the info. Plus it hurts your seo too.

Did you buy the software, and use that, or you hired them to do the whole thing? (hands off - they run software, and stuff?)

I know it was all hands-off. I have the software. It's quite nice. However, if its legal, that's still to be determined.

Legal? You mean against MySpace agreement?
I am completely new to this MySpace things so bare with me...
Did you had to write the "bulletin", or they just wrote something short, pointing to your site?
Can I see your bulletin? (PM me if you prefer)
I just wrote him that I am interested in 4,000 'targetted' bulletins. Let's see what happens.
