How many of you guys tried mail box advertising? a local company here offers sending your brochure of flyer to thousands of mail boxes in the city, is this a good idea? or will most of my marketing material be thrown in the garbage the min. they see its an AD? I do that most of the times to ADs in my mail box.

I suppose it would be worthwhile if they could guarantee you exclusive delivery
of just your ad on a particular day. However, I would probably imagine that your ad
might be mixed in with many others and would therefore just be binned. It's a bit like
when you buy a magazine and two tons of leaflets fall out on the floor. You just pick
them all up and stuff them in the recycling bag.
I guess the success rate would also depend on what your particular target demographic
is. That sort of advertising is really a broad "scattergun" approach and would probably
yield the best results for local stores and companies in the area.
When we usually get these type of things in the UK, they go in the bin. If it was me I wouldn't really bother, I have the feeling not many people read them!
