I run a photoshop tutorial site and was wondering how I would get people to buy some ad space on my site. Is there a place where I can make a listing and people can bid on it? just wondering.

Two ways, as I see it:

1) Lie. Cheat. Steal. Convince your buyer(s) that they're getting something that they're not. Inflate what you're really selling. Make it sound like a great deal. A little unethical, but I've seen it done before - and seen suckers fall for it.

2) Tell it like it is. Get genuine unique visitors and possibly a decent PR (3-6). Then write up a good little (honest) scheme about what you're selling and post it on various forums such as earners forum, sitepoint, digitalpoint, namepros, etc.

I recommend way #2.

Make threads in the appropriate sections at webmaster/business forums such as SitePoint, NamePros, EF, etc. letting people know that you have ad space available. Be sure to include traffic stats, PR, Alexa ranking, and anything else you feel the potential advertiser should know about your website.

Eventually people will come to you and ask to advertise on your site, but in the meantime, fill your site with CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT! Content is king. If you build it, they will come. The more you build it, the more will come, and the more you can make from ads. :-)

Focus some time on getting new advertisers, but focus most of your time on building and promoting your site. I would recommend using Adsense or YPN if you are having trouble finding advertisers. You can make enough to support your site with just those until you get bigger sponsors.

There a big number of forums where you can advertise your AD spots, you can also make an avdertise page on your website and place information like traffic stats and prices there, it all depends on how much traffic your website gets.

I know there is a new linkmarket on iwebtool.com . You can set up your own prices and the buyers will contact you.
Hope this helps

You should post on lots of big forums, about that you are selling adspace with the details of your site, traffic, pagerank etc. If it is allowed ofcourse. Like lots of people do on webhostingtalk.
