So, I thought it would be interesting to compile a Thread of everyones Promoting Tips & Tricks that they learned from Promoting their forums. It's a great way to learn new Tips for experiances Admins, and a helpful resource for Newbie Admins looking for Promoting help!

For me, I would have to say one of the best Promoting methods I have used is Forum Directory Promotion, I.E. Submitting my forum to Forum Directories. You get better rankings in Search Engines, you get more visitors, and obviously all that leads to more Members.

What about you guys?

I've been using Myspace promotion, press releases, and trying to be as viral as possible. Once in a while I'll throw something onto the general craigslist ad section.

Ye sorry but i just don't understand how the most here do it.
I guess not everyone wats to share their ways.
For example, I know alot of webmasters that have proxy sites, but no one really tells how they promote it ...

My way:

- Search thru google the real successful marketers.
- Search thru google if he write an articles how to do so.

Both way are free right? But their way I am sure is not free..

im seeing a lot of people talking about promoting their sites in myspeace, and in something called bulletins

can someone tell me what is this 'bulletine' thing!.

im extremely newbie in myspace stuff!.

join myspace and you'll get the hang of it. Bulletins appear on all your "friends" home page on myspace.

I suggest you search for online markerteers. Go direct and network with them. All those clicking stuff to get free online marketing are not effective. Everyone is clicking fast without really reading the content.

I use MySpace for generic stuff.

If its web master related, I buy ads in various forums.

MySpace isn't very ethical, I believe, and I'm not sure even how Legal it is...

But I do know that buying Ads, Link Exchanges, Post Exchanges, Forum Directories ect... Are all a very good way of Promoting your forums!

Previous forums that I have worked on have had success with these methods. Of course, you must vary it a little, and you must know a little about SEO ect..., but this does work.
