whats are good ways to promote forums? I've checked out forumtrends.com. any other ideas besides advertising through myspace and other forums?

Link exchange with content sites/blogs on the same topic

I think submit to the search engine like google is the best idea..

I come to this forum is also thru google.

Make a few friends and see if you can get them posting daily with each other. Showing regular activity is very important.

a good way is to add your image and link to your sig on your competitors sites. introduce yourself and make sure your not breaking any rules and help out. once people see your talent they will come to check you out.

submit to directories, make trade links with anothers forums in your topic and with blogs, and the most imprtante thing for me, its to pay to some people to post in your forum constantly to keep the forum alive.
