I've seen a lot of different sites go through some neat "competitions" and contests -- win X, win Y, win Z, just sign up, sponsored by Your Friendly Sponsor.

Does anyone have any direct experience with this? Do you just walk up to someone and say, 'hey, i have an idea, would you sponsor it?'

Advice, if y'all would.

I have done this a few times and i found the best way is to get to know someone who sells the item and then ask him if he would donate something

we should have a sponsor category.....for those of us who want to sponsor folks who have good ideas and in exchange for sponsoring we would get a link placement or banner spot or mention in a newsletter, etc.....

im game to this. i know there are alot of folks who have solid and profitable ideas.

codeism: i don't know if you're idea is solid or profitable, i'm just generally speaking about the topic.
