Hey guys,

Well I have been reading this fourm for awhile now and most of you top earners have inspired me to start making some serious money..

I work full-time as a web designer and my only thought was to ever make money selling websites.. This has changed..

I came up with an idea to hop on board the "freepay" train and start up one of those free(insert item here).com sites..

Site is at:

360gamesforfree.com

I just launched it about 4 days ago and already have about 60 users signed up but the traffic is not all that impressive so far and nobody has completed any of my offers..

The only advertising I am doing is by having a banner in my signature on some xbox 360 forums.. Most of these forums have already told me to take the banner out of my sig even though I am not spamming my site and am posting relating to the topic on hand.

So if some of you had a site like this what would you do to start making profit off it?

A friend and I have put a good solid month worth of work into this and it is a great system.. I know it is a little too early to get worried that it might fail but it is always in the back of my mind..

What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance,

Misura

P.S sorry for the non-link to my site but I don't have 15 posts yet.. (I swear I have posted before though )

Try gamer forums and gamer groups at social networking sites. You can also try holding a contest.

Like I said I have been doing the gamer forum thing but a lot of the time you can't advertise on forums anymore..

I will have to try the social networking sites..

And I don't see what type of contest I can do for my type of site.. The site already markets itself when a user signs up they need to tell as many people as they can about the site if they really want the free product..

Thanks for such a quick reply though..

Any more?

Myspace promotion may be useful since most of the myspace community would be in your audience.

Your 'site' is just another one of those annoying downline program. Why not create a site with actual content and value that people will want to visit?

My reason for this is because I actually plan on launching 3 of these sites for 3 of the next gen consoles.. Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii..

Once these sites are up they require very little time for updates and bascially once they get popular they market themselves..

The "content that people want" are actually the games and even maybe a free console. That is what drives people to the site..

I don't really want a BLOG and have to update it 5-6 times a day with unique content in order to get users to my site HOPING that they click on some adwords or something..

Anyways..

Anybody else have any positive replys for me?

What is the best way to advertise on myspace.. I know there are bots out there can anybody point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Are you using an opt in page and an auto responder? Most people will not buy at the first contact. With an autoresponder, you can set up follow up reminders or mesages at whatever interval you choose.

MisurA, I was doing web design 4 years ago and just branched into doing my own sites.

Hoping onto a bandwagon seems to offer some immediate income but not really what I would recommend, you need to start a site that adds value to the internet, not because I am anti-spam/**** but because unless you do then it makes your life sooo much harder getting natural link love.

Q/ You dont want to update it yourself every day
A/ Let users add content, images, rate, comments, pay people to write/post articles that are designed to get a response. If you want thousands of pages within 6-12 months you'll need your visitors doing something, you can offer profit sharing to talented people in the industry that offer content for your site, ie no risk and added value.

I too have been doing the design work for years. I recently started info
product niches.

I like the idea of using an autoresponder too. It is one of those things that
you can do once and benefit from it for a long time.

You really need to be advertising your optin page not your main page so you
can build your list.

Getting information for your niche 'xbox 360'for your autoresponder you can
go to article directories (ezinearticle.som, goarticles.com, articlecity.com,
etc.) As long as you don't change the article and keep their 'resource box'
you can use them.

Even better, read them and create your own articles. This will have even
more benefits, you will be able to submit your articles (get back links and
become an expert in the subject) plus you can then use them in your
autoresponder.

Also, you could combine the articles (yours and/or theirs) as a free bonus if
they optin to your autoresponder. Once you have them in your list you can
promote your site. Best to have 3 days of content then a couple days of
promotion and then repeat 3 days of content etc. Plus a list like this you can
cross promote the other games you want to develop.

Another use for the articles (yours or theirs) is to upload them to your site.
Create a directory of the articles and put each one on a new page and on
your main page have a link at the bottom of your main page linking to the
directory of articles. This will help create content for your site which of
course we all know search engines love.

The last suggestion I have is to use the PRweb.com site. Write a press
release about your site. Talk in the third person when you write it. Make
sure you do the whole bit (who, what, where, when, how). These PR sites
are searched regularly by many people and engines. Don't forget in the press
release to add some sort of controversy twist to it. This should create
the 'buzz'
you need to launch your site.

Talk to you later,
Connie

The best ways that I have found are getting the opt-in or lead capture page and an autoresponder like GetResponse. That way you can set up as many reminders to all who sign up with you and any intervals you set. Many people do not buy at first glance but will if they see your emails through your auto-responder.

@Misura: Have you considered making a press release about your site? Getting free xbox & games is an interesting story, so I'm sure local papers and gaming press would be interested to heard what you have to offer.
