I am thinking about advertising one of my sites through house flyer's, the rate is approx $800 US for 50,000 homes. Anyone have any experience with conversions and this type of marketing?

Hi Randy007,

I advertised a free financial needs analysis, a service I offer to find new clients for my financial services business, in a co-op mailing in my local area. The response was incredible, as I received over 300 inquiries. The problem was, my team wasn't very big at the time and it took us several months to contact everyone and get appointments set up with those who were truly interested.

On the other hand, I would NOT suspect that an ad for one of my other services, such as web hosting, would do nearly as well. I think the product/service you are offering is what will matter most.

Humbly,
Trevor Dean

I didn't personally mail any letters. I took out an ad in a local "Dollar Ads" co-op mailing. It was mailed to 50,000 residents in my area. I'm sure you all receive these types of co-ops in your mail all the time. If not, basically, it is a small catalog with a bunch of coupons for local businesses. In my ad, I created a small "coupon" which was good for a free financial needs analysis.

I would only consider it if you're selling appliances, furnature... the kind of stuff that new houseowners would want.
