Obviosuly, I'll keep my myspace page confidential... but my company purchased $7,000 worth of advertising with myspace... the result being that I've been able to work with a rep who has cleared my account, etc.

For everyone who can no longer send friend requests: you're acocunt has been locked down. Myspace considers a huge volume of friend requests basically spam and will tag your account. Unless you have an inside contact with a myspace rep, that's it - you may still be able to send events, but no more friend requests and probably no more messages - ever.

There is nothing the software (here or elsewhere) will be able to do about it.

Seperately, myspace is on the look out for "cam operators" - people that set up fake accounts so lure people into a porn/pay web site. I would assume many of the people on THIS site fall into that category -- all I can say if that you are RUINING it for the rest of us!

So, we basically have two categories:

1. "real" businesses who are trying to build a big friend list and promote their business... bands, nightclubs, DJs, etc. For all of you, I suggest you try to keep your friend requests to a reasonable volume. If you can locked down, the only option I know of is to buy advertising and have your rep unlock you. It will be $7k+

2. "fake" businesses who set up dozens of accounts and send out thousands of requests a day in order to lure people to porn sites. For all of you, you're f*cking it up for the rest of us who are trying to use MySpace as a real tool. More importantly, the time of MySpace being usable for your type of application is pretty much over. My rep made it clear they have a big team out there looking for this type of use... they are the largest web site in the world and have a huge budget now, so they have the time and funds to find all the fake operators. Within a few months, you'll just be spinning your wheels on this type of use.

Oh man, I was affraid of this.

My two new accounts I just made last week got frozen after only two days. What do you want to bet some myspace team saw my friend requests and locked them both down.

So whats the solution then? Only add 100 friends a day now?

It took less than 12 hours for them to do this to me!!! I made 10 accounts yesterday and made 500 requests to each of them, each targeting a different set of 'friends' using a bot. Bam...all 10 of them were locked down in less than a day.

The only account I got now that can make new friend requests, is my original one that I havn't bombed with requests using a bot, but just used at friendstorm.net and a few other sites like that, for geting friends.

It might be the speed at which we make friend requests that's locking the accounts.

Yah this is very very not cool.

I'm suprised there isnt more talk of this at the various myspace communities. Or maybe I'm missing it, but it seems like myspace has pretty much got a hand up on the friend blasting bots. Hopefully not for good.

I just started building my network and have 2 1.2k accounts, the 2 new ones I made last week only made it to 100 and then got locked down.

Please keep me updated if you guys find out anything, or new methods!

I might create a few 'throw away' accounts, aka testing accounts and try a few different things. Like making a request every five seconds, make way less than 500 requests a day, or heck, try one account that I spend all day making requests to...aka thousands of requests and hope it only get's locked down.

For example, I had as high as 20% success rate at requests being accepted (Age 18 single chicks had the highest success rate out of 10 accounts that I made and did 500 requests to. 107 accepted them.)

If I made 25,000 requests in one day, starting right when they close...got 'locked down' the next day...oh well...that's 5,000 friends right there to send out bulletins to.

nice try, but you can't send NEARLY that many friend requests

No one realy knows the limit (aka it hasn't been verified), but it appears to be around 300-500.

MySpace seems to be pretty random with locking down accounts. I had one of my 9 accounts locked down, and I assumed it was because I was blasting so many bulletins on that one. I add 300-500 friends every day on all my accounts, and only one has been frozen so far.

For new accounts, I think 100 a day might be too many....

****, I created 10 accounts 2 days ago and added 400 people to them

yesterday on ONE I added about 10 to it and the other I added ~200 then I decided to not do my last 8 accounts

Today the 2 accounts were DELETED from Myspace (I dont think I added friends within a 24 hour limit) but my account that had no more than 410 friend requests in the last 2 days was deleted...

Day 1 of test results are in, using mySpaceSuite since I'm on a Macintosh and can't use what you guys use.

100 requests, with one request every 30 seconds. Account is still accepting new friends.
100 requests, with no 30 second pause between each request. Account is still accepting new friends.

Today I'll test out

150 requests, with one request every 15 seconds.
150 requests, with no 30 second pause.

I'll do this this evening after they've probably gone home!!!

I'll probably do the thousands of requests test during the weekend, when they probably don't work.

Awesome!

I like your test so far.

In myspace suite you can set the amount of time in between friend requests?

Yep. 30 seconds is the default if you use the request delay. I'm hoping to get down to 10 seconds with out geting a lock down, and eventually try five seconds. I'm a speed freak and anything that slows stuff down, drives me nuts. And this delay thing drives me nuts!!! Hince I didn't even use it on the first day I used the program. You can look at the program at

http://www.myspace-suite.com/

I'm not sure if the demo has the delay option. And you can do more than 500 requests, though not suggested at all except for tests, like the one I'll be doing. The default option when you open it for requesting friends is...3,000!!!! That's how many profiles you can get per search.

Why would you bother testing for adding thousands of friends per day? If you're going to test adding more than 500, why not work your way up in smaller increments so that you can determine the max amount of friends you can add without getting locked down? You are without question going to be flagged by requesting several thousand friends in a single day on a single account, that's a given.

Myspace wont let you request more than 500 people in a day, since it wont send out a request to users after 500, it just act like it does, if you look at pending requests you will see anything above 500 wont be sent out and dont appear in pending request

Yep, I noticed that. I tried sending out 1,000 requests...and it stoped adding them before even making it to 500. After noticing that, I created a new account and did 500 requists and pinpointed where it stoped.

427 requests went through/451 counting the ones that didn't go through due to requireing you to know the person, and then it stoped.

I'm guessing that when you've done so many requests that it stops sending them, that that means you've been locked out.

Then I made another acocunt and did just 400 requests to see if not hiting the lock out point will let it keep working. I'll know with in a day if it'll keep working.
