BadderAdder: How to avoid dupes?

Hi Folks

I just bought BadderAdder and I think it's a great program. But I have an issue that I can't think of a work-around.

First off - MySpace sucks in reliability (O RLY!?). When you click on "browse" it lists 3000 members. But if you select more than a couple parameters (zip code, relationship status, etc.) some pages will be broken and BadderAdder will stop. So in the end you will only be able to collect 1200ish friends (good for three accounts). If you try to restart the collecting process, BadderAdder tosses the old ones and starts over.

This is a problem if you plan on having a good amount of friends. If you just do a very basic search (age), you can get 3k. But you can't set up multiple programs to this. I've noticed that a lot of the IDs will be duplicates if you do the same type of search around the same time.

In the past with AdderRobot, I would get around this I would do a different zip code for each program running. But if I do this w/ BA, I'll only be able to collect 1200ish IDs. Better, but not fully taking advantage of the features of BA.

Any ideas?

Badder adder automatically filters out buddies youve requested in the past, you can see this in the account management page under the skipped (duplicates) field. I dont have any problems with dupes this way. If you already have a pending friend request, myspace itself will filter it. So, you should be good to go.

Does it filter friend requests for all your accounts or only that specific account?

With BA you can save the ID's in a file and then do another browse and then combine the ID txt files or something.

Does BA work perfectly for you guys? it works for one of my friends but then it doesnt work for me or another one of my friends :/ Random errors and such.

BA works perfectly for me. Each of the accounts has separate filter information, so I ASSUME that the filters are separate. But, I'm not 100% sure... I'll have to test this. At any rate, I am highly pleased with it.

Hey guys

I tried an experiment today. I opened two programs of BA and logged into a different account for each one. I then clicked the browse page with just normal paramters (US, w/ picture, age 18, etc.) and grabbed 40 IDs. I'd say there was 80+% overlap.

I started sending friend requests on one and after that was done I started out on the other one. Unfortunately, all of the friend requests went through for the second account when they would have been 80+% dupes. So BA only keeps track of dupes for individual accounts and not across all of em.

This means that there will be a lot more micromanaging to do a decent amount of accounts. I bought BA because I thought it was automated and unfortunately this is not the case.

Any ideas? :helpsmilie:

not sure, but you opened two different programs so even if BA does check for dupes between two accounts, how would it tell if two instances are open.

Why don't you just get adderrobot? It pretty much rocks. I haven't tried any other programs yet, but still, it's good. There's an active forum where you can actually talk to people from the site and emails get answered within a day or two. It's something like twenty bucks.

You can't chain accounts with adderrobot. That's its main weakness.

I seeee. It does seem to have a few extra features. I'm going to have to check it out later tonight.

I've started having trouble with Badder Adder with new accounts. A script error is display each time I log into the new accounts. It's really getting annoying that we get no response from Michelle.

I haven't run into the login error, but i've seen an issue where bulletins don't post correctly. It gets into an infinite loop of posting empty FONT tags with no content. It really turns the auto-bulletin feature useless to me.

Anyone written their own script yet? Since we can't get support from badder adder, I might just have to write me own. However, that sucks considering I bought badder adder.

I also see an issue where people have some popup javascript alert code on one of their screens, and this will stall the captcha bypass if you hit such a profile. BadderAdder can't handle the modal alert dialog.

So true. 24 hours my ***. Pay $47 for software, the customer service should be a little better. I'm sick of people sticking up for her too, I'm sure she is lovely, but customer service is customer service, and throwing your customers under a bus sucks.

Yeah, it stalls logging in. I found that if it stalls too long, I just hit back twice and it will log in.

If I leave it running overnight, it invariably got hung on something and didnt do 25% of what I asked it to.

This morning I was getting an error with all of my accounts when I tried to add. It said "BannedProfileToo 9/13/06".

But when I log in with my browser and try to do an add, nothing happens.

BAck to Badder Adder, same error. So MySpace has figured out BadderAdder again.

And I submitted a ticket. But good luck. She didnt answer the one about it getting stuck I submitted 3 weeks ago. I dont expect an answer now.
