Hi. I have just finished my site a few days ago. My forum is quite empty. How do you get people to sign up? I have invited a few people from the community im into but they just take a look and leave. How do i get them to sign up?

Please advise anyone? Im really new at this.

Make it active. Make it look active. That's the greatest advice I can offer. No one wants to join a dead forum.

Gotta give them a reason to. Why do you join forums? To get information and discuss things with others. If no one is there no one will join.

You have to give them a solid reason to join. Perhaps you could offer a free ebook for anyone who signs up? And perhaps make a blog post (if you happen to have one) about those who stay at least 1-month. Perhaps you could make a contest and give cash or stuff prizes?

Perhaps you could add a forum link to your signature so people could check out the forums.

ok what you need is a little pick me up. heres my advise(take it or leave it)

go to namepros.com and at the top pay lets say 10 bucks for NP$ bucks.

then make an incentive thread saying youll give 5 NPs for registering and 2NP$ per post after that. set a limit like 40 per member.

soon youll have your forums full of people posting to get paid with NP$. its only 10 bucks and youll get some traffic and exposure. maybe some people will stay maybe not but its worth the posts and the topics. those guys know how to get a forum buzzing.

I saw somewhere that there is a place to help you advertise your forum, but I don't remember. Try to google it, it may appear.

Tip: If you have a newsletter, tell your subscribers to register to your forum if they have question about your service/products.
