I've created a myspace page which will feature a contest. The friends list will probably grow huge in the next few weeks. Besides posting bulletins, do people put any ads on their actual myspace page to make money? I know that adsense can't be placed on it and that ypn is also banning people who put them on myspace accounts. I don't really have a website to promote on this myspace page. Any other ideas?

MySpace blocks javascript, there's basically no way to monetize a myspace profile if that's what you're asking. You need a real site to go along with it.

EDIT: Don't even try iframes, or anything else, I've tried it all.

Hmm I just came up with an idea. Maybe I'll have a link in my myspace page to a blog not on myspace about the contest and then have ads on the blog. What blog site is good to make money?

You should really research your topic before you start asking questions. There is a whole section related to blogging and a whole search engine ready to answer your questions, all you need to do is type

Actually, Florida Sunshine they have a myspace mailer that advertises to the entire myspace network. They also have something called myspace station where you can email all your groups, bulletins, and friends all at one time. I do not know if they work, but I saw them somewhere on myspace.

I am very interested in know about that as well. If you do email all your groups, do you do it from that software? Would that be consider spam and banned?

I would say that, depending on how good of a contest is (how much interest there is for it), you should make a blog or simple site OFF of myspace and then use your myspace page to link to it. Just make your page link heavy, well designed and try not to make it look spammy. Then monetize your non-myspace page.

Look in the different areas of EF to find information on these different parts (web design forum for setting up a site, monetization forum for making money off of the site, myspace forum for learning how to build up your myspace network).

Build your plan, figure out what you need to execute, then look in the different forums to get the info you need for proper execution.

Everyone loves freebies and it won't look like your promoting it as such to the illiterate web user.
