Seems like most people's offline promotion fixates on URLs and getting traffic to the main page.
What about offline promotion towards another goal? Say, having people discuss your product or company generally?
Basically, I'd like to hear about promotion that doesn't have as its primary goal driving traffic to your site. More like something that is a general business goal, and ties in with promoting the site.
I was thinking, for example, of discussing a new controversial article on your site. Your name's going to get around (better if it's spelled the way it's pronounced), and it might also encourage people to read it.
Or you can promote some kind of awards where you were a big winner in important categories.
In other words, looking away from directly funnelling people to your site, and more towards broader marketing aimed at generating interest down your marketing chain.
Oh hey! This is post 360 for me. Cool .
