1. Door to door leaflet drop (local area).
2. Placemats for mugs with URL and logo sent to potential customers.
3. Left leaflets on every seat in a train carriage.
4. Champagne competition at a conference, leave your business card for a chance to win.

I have been thinking about doing this, but haven't yet.
How about putting up flyers above urinals? It would have to be in more public places like stadiums or parks, not restaurants. But you have a very captive audience, plus I don't think it is that annoying because I love having something to read while standing there.

It might be really good to put them in porta-potties at big events.

Yeah the only issue with that is some cities have laws against it,, but i agree it is a viable way to get peoples attention. I know all the resteraunts around here, put a picture frame with the front page of the sports section above the urinals. So you may be on to something

I like the last one. That really might target my target market.
1. Self stamped envelopes. 1% return rate.
2. Printed 500 business cards for $10 and put on windshields.
3. Tried a home-video "Serviza Halloween Monster" on YouTube this year but did not yet learn the zen of youtube. Probably something like getting enough views and getting rated up there. It took over a day to become searchable.
4. Wrote a book to intro people to the new market (The Business Guide to Free Information Technology including Free/Libre Open Source Software) and that generates ten plus hits per day. Not yet into general sales yet so not sure if it was an effective use of time/money. But a good learning experience.

I wrote my websites URL in big letters on a piece of spare printer paper, taped it to my front and back, and took a Mall Walk. Minimal effects; however it was strange.
