Google updates it's index dynamically all the time, positions change, it's normal.

Not necessarily, it depends on a lot of factors. I have a pr4 domain that gets 0-1 hits from google/day.

The age of your domain, # of incoming links, the relevancy of your page, a lot of factors are involved.
