Do myspace accounts need to be confirmed?

I read somewhere - no. However...

Someone named Deliguy mentions that:

"3) accounts must be confirmed or they will be automatically deleted in 7 days."

Is this true?

I just created a ****load of accounts.. and confirmed none - will I have to go through the emails + confirm them all?

They don't. I have one to feed bulletins from bands and it wasn't confirmed and it works. It's only one though, I tend to use real emails in case I need to change the password.
