I noticed that the PlayStation 3 is causing a ton of commotion, so I decided to buy one and start a contest revolving around this PlayStation 3.

I started a completely new forum at:
http://www.ps9forums.com/

The contest can be found at:
http://www.ps9forums.com/contest-poi...-free-ps3.html

It basically gives out a PS3 to one of this first 800 people to register on the forum and make 50 posts.

How would I go around targetting the correct audience base with the best conversion rate? My conversion rate is not based on getting registrations, it is based on how many people make 50 posts on the forums.

Just a question, was ps3forums.com taken?

Write up a 200 word ish description of your site and the competition, then post it on as many gaming sites that you can find.

And it may just be me, but I find your site bloody hard to read

Ok, I'll work on that.

What did you mean by saying it was hard to read? Is there a problem with the font or anything?

I suggest you make the contest point-based instead of purely random. That way you could earn points by referring other users (+Members), writing articles (+SEO) and posting (+Activity). Then your forum will be off to a good start (just like EF).

By the way, I suggest you change the font colors you use on the contest page. They're really hard to read.

another way you could get massive posts is do profit sharing with adsense... something like 80/20. 80% of the time its your ad 20% of the time its one of the registered users and the more posts the more chance their ad shows.

digitalpoint has this feature, but personally it's not a big draw for me.

you can make the contest be random, but have people gain more entries to win by posting or promoting your forum... that way their effort is parallel to their chances of winning.
