well, i own 50 accounts and i don't want to know, how many more people do so

so, unless these sites do not really produce any serious income i am not really convinced that there is something lasting about myspace. of course, selling those sites brings in a nice profit, but that is only a one time cashflow and not a sustainable stream of income.

Well what i can tell you basically is that, the next big then compared to site's like MySpace,Friendster,YouTube these are viral driven communities that depend soley on their members. Now if you can come up with an idea or a concept which you can introduce something that can combine users + user-friendly control panel and registration because we have to remind our selfs that people are very inpatient. Make simple registration pages, connect people in an X factor that has been utilized yet along with very clean basic design template or theme for your site and maybe you are on a good start.

=)

Secondlife is coming up strong but I think Link Investment will make it to the top. Its the only site that allow members to sell back their links for a profit

more to the point of the topic, I think those tv linking sites seems to be getting a fair bit of traffic and springing up everywhere, It might even decrease the traffic going to torrent sites as alot of people are mainly looking for videos/tv shows and dont always care about quality if they can get it quickly.

Alright well first of all, I have no clue what half of these things are...I have a facebook but have had one since it was enabled at UCLA...now that I live in Texas i guess its kind of useless except to keep in touch with friends...If you honestly believe thats going to be the next big thing...i dont know...i promise you its not...To be honest with you I thought craigslist was going to be the next greatest thing for a long time...but I guess it all depends on what you feel is big...No one on here has ever mentioned Orkut...Its what I would call "stuck in the middle of Facebook and Myspace"

Its very hard to edit, but at the same time its not bland by any means...Craigslist isnt really social network other than the personals that they have, but its cheap to run...Orkut is run by Google...so you know its not going to die...they will always come up with something new...but honestly...I havent heard half of the things people have been saying...and the internet is my life...So I dont know what this Second Life stuff is, but its just a game, its something that you have to pay attention to quite a bit to be well at it, and I guarentee you that there are more than enough people who do not want to sit there on a computer and play some stupid game about making money when they could be making real money doing something REAL...

Myspace, Facebook, Youtube, Orkut, Friendster, Xanga, MSN, AOL....all of these services have a lot on common...the main one being that they only take a maximum of 30min - 1 hour a day to run...unless you advertise like muah...then its your life...but anyways ORKUT is the real deal, its the next big thing....look it up on alexa or anything...

I didn't read through all the posts in this thread, so my answer to the question......

Watch the news. Any popular, growing, social network always gets news coverage. Mostly for drugs and pedophiles.

So if something you haven't heard of, or heard much of, gets on the news for something bad..... check it out.
