What are some effective techniques for driving traffic from your myspace page to your site?

I have a new site and in an effort to promote it and possibly get into some myspace marketing I created an account. The problem is that I can't seem to drive the myspace traffic to my site. Has anyone out there been successful with this or is it a hopeless pursuit?

I just started one for my gaming forum and I made it so that it's obvious I'm a pretty heavy gamer. I then setup a banner at the top and asked others to link to it if they like the forums.

I then take time commenting those who comment me, since this builds up a relationship and gets you into the top spots and gets your banner on their page as well. If they don't have my banner, I place a 100x100 image at the bottom of my comment to drive a small amount of traffic

A lot of work though, and the captcha is really annoying
