Hello guys,

thanks to this forum and thanks to the great help I got, I finally decided to get my own project going. I had some really big plan inside my head for about at least the last 1.5 years, but besides writing the business plans, drawing application architecture charts and designing workflows and processes, we really never progressed. We made the big mistake of overloading the whole story until perfection but this perfection would cost an easy 5 million a year in maintenance costs alone

So, after making a pause and after a new start, this time concentrating on learning how to make money from the internet at all (which was and is a very very rewarding learning phase), we now have our project almost ready.

I will post the link here to give you special incentives once we are ready (hopefully next weekend) but all inj all I wanted to ask you about the latest open issues we got:

Initial Traffic
How would we start to get our initial traffic? We thought about promoting the site to all social bookmarking services, a couple of forums where we post regularly and other than that by word-of-mouth. Are there any special places for new launches that we should consider too?

Communication and Feedback
How important are "communication facilities" in the very beginning"? As said, we start with the leanest set of functions we could ever think of, and that will include a simple shoutbox and commenting boxes for posts but no forum. We aim for a forum but see this as stage 2. Right or wrong?

Affiliates and Marketing
We will rely on adsense and azoogle. But due to all the bad stories I heard about adsense cancelling your accounts in the very last minute before paying I feel a bit bad. YPN is not an option as they do not offer their services yet in germany.

Incentives
The incentives to visit us, will be the chance to win prizes. You can win 5$ a day, 25$ a week or 100$ a month if you have a bit of skill and knowledge on the financial markets What do you say? Is 5$ these days pathetic or would you say it is suffice? We pay for this on our own and although those 5$ are amazon gift certificates, so we are free to chose what prizes we want to provide in te end. Are there better, more appealing prizes in that price-category from your perspective?

Well, that's it for the moment being

Thank you very much for helping me here!

It would probably help if you gave some more details. Is this a site or an eBook or what. The medium you are deliving will ditate the response on how to go about it.

Sorry I can't be of more help at the moment.

I think if you still have questions about where your traffic will come
from, and how you're going to communicate with your customers,
you need to put off the launch for a bit.

It sounds like you're going for a site that will encourage people to
complete CPA offers in exchange for prizes, as well as having AdSense
all over the pages.

Personally, I'd advertise these sorts of sites on MySpace and through
using the bigger social sites like YouTube, Reddit and eBay.

Hi WillB,

thanks for your reply. You might remember me, as I was one of your first 15k-challenge-script customers

Actually, my concept is a bit more simple: I just want people to come to my site (blog), read my posts (which are of financial nature) and participate in playing my game (own development).

This way, they can earn real cash prizes without any obligations. If they occasionally click on the adsense which is all over the site and do the one or other cpa-program I would be fine, but it would not be a must in order to get the benefits from the site.

Maybe my offer is to honest, but I will really cough up the running costs and pay for just playing and relying on the marketing income. But i will not go the classic "sign up here and get a free ps3"-stuff.

I do remember, yes

Sounds like a neat site. Make sure you don't need any licenses for running
games with monetary prizes though. I can't remember the exact rules, but
it depends on whether or not there's any skill involved in the games.

Let us know how you get on.

You should probably work on some link-building to get your backlinks in google up.
