Okay, so I sort of just got "promoted" at my company to the online marketing management position.
Background:
My job will now be to manage all online marketing for our firm. We are a microsoft gold certified partner who does consulting engagements for a variety of microsoft products in the NY/NJ area.
I am a long time web developer but have never spent a dime on adwords.
My questions:
1. I plan to take all the google training and pass the Advertising professional exam this weekend but, Are there any other essential books, courses, or webinars you would reccommend before I buy a single click?
2. Is a third party tracking system(other than analytics) worth the extra money, and which one is the best?
3. Can you tell me some handy tools I might use? For example, is there a tool to quickly and easily price out different keywords and phrases, and find out the number of clicks they recieve per month? From what i've seen so far, as i said I havent bought any clicks yet, google's own internal tool isnt "quick and easy" to track down the keywords/phrases you want to buy.
4. How is YPN on the advertisers side? I know webmasters are making better income from it, but does that mean the clicks are more expensive?
5. Is there a way to specify whether your ads are placed ONLY on google's search results(instead of on people's websites)? I thought I saw something but wasnt 100% sure thats what it meant.
Thanks Earners!
