Since last night. This is SO my luck...lol. I get signed up with affiliates, and on the same day, maxbounty is 404 error and myspace bulletins are not functioning.

Maxbounty doesn't accept promotion on MySpace as far as I know....

And now Maxbounty works, there is another thread about this, it was an update I guess...

Hello MikeB. We've been making upgrades and adding on server capability. The short downtime was a result of this.

You should know that we do not accept traffic from MySpace. If you are using MySpace bulletins to generate CPA revenue, please don't with MaxBounty.

Well I kinda figured this out re: myspace and maxbounty.

But JP are you saying ZERO biz is allowed from myspace to Maxbounty? I am assuming you are only referring to bulletins etc. I have a layout site that gets a lot of traffic from myspace. I have ads on there from various affiliates, adsense etc. If a myspace user is on my site and clicks a maxbounty ad, are you saying THAT is not even allowed?

JP,
Well, it's going to turn out that none of this matters in the long run. Your site (AND MINE) was down again today and tonight. Banners not showing, YOUR own site down, MY sites looking like :censored: because the banners were not showing. Off and on, up and down...complete nonsense.
And one of your own support techs emailed me saying he had no idea why I was having problems because he knew of no work being done on his (Your) end.
Not good at all

If you want to use MySpace to generate traffic to your website, by all means that's your own call. Their TOS specify that you cannot.

About the downtime, not sure what to say Mike. We were down for 30 minutes while we upgraded the server. No other downtime since, and you're the only one to mention it.

I cannot understand why it would just be us. Especially on numerous sites.

Regarding maxbounty and myspace, what I meant was that people use our site for layouts etc, this in turn generates more traffic from myspace. We don't really need to use myspace to drive the traffic. I guess more to the point, is it allowable to have links on our pages directing people to onsite pages where a maxbounty offers is shown? THEN, if someone sees it and they are myspace users would it be allowable?

Well first you need to understand that (unless you're paying them for the privilege) any commercial use of a MySpace account is prohibited by MySpace. Regardless of what MaxBounty does and does not allow, if you're getting traffic from them, it's highly likely that you're breaking THEIR terms of service. Might want to double check that you're following their rules. I understand that seemingly everyone is making money off MySpace traffic, forums have dedicated boards on making money with MySpace, but you are playing with fire.

That said, if you're not directly advertising MaxBounty campaigns on MySpace, I'd generally say you're fine, but there is a gray area.... and surely some unlucky affiliate will try to explore it. If you send the MySpace traffic to your "website" which consists solely of a contentless full page ad for a MaxBounty sponsor, I'd consider this as breaking the rules.

I understand the rules re: maxbounty
Why I'm not getting my point across that our site is a myspace layout site, and people use our layouts and comment tags on their own ms profiles thereby generating traffic back to us is beyond me.
