If it cannot connect to remote server it doesn't work has anyone else noticed this.

Anyone know why it connects to remote server?

This raises a few questions in my mind as to why why it needs to. Seems to me it would be very very easy to access my data. Or do other things......

I may be wrong but I hardly trust anyone on the net.

maybe it has to connect to see if its a valid copy of the program.

Well for one it checks for updates each time the program in launched (a good thing as they update quick each time myspace changes their code. I also imagine it checks the validity of your license like thewupk said. I read on another forum someone saying "Don't use Space Station, it logs your accounts". They were only referring to the part that stores it for your convenience, but someone actually ran a packet sniffer and didn't detect that it was sending these details anywhere. In my eyes, Space Station is the best tool out. If you want to see for yourself, run a program like Iris and it will show you all the information the program is sending to the web
