people have misunderstanding and simply myth about PR. Increase it doesn't mean higher SERP. you have to have keywords, you want ranking or PR?
a site can have high PR but doesn't mean it has a high ranking for some keywords or the keywords is so less competitive it is easier to rank...
e.g. I am from HK, there is a big ISP in HK called netvigator.
if you google is showed up the first result. But there is no other netvigator, and indeed it has high page rank (5) (but what does that mean? )
The company doesn't bother to show up they are the biggest ISP in HK in the page title or at least saying they are an ISP in HK in the title.
Is their decision but to me I will at least add HK biggest ISP in the page title and also building links with this keyword.
so you see to have high page rank doesn't nessecary is a good thing.
another example, if you query "affiliate program" on google, the first site on the SERP is bidvertiser.com, PR = 6.
If you check on the page, you will see apple - itunes affiliates there, Let's check the Page rank, it has 8!!!
so you see high page rank not equals to high search engine ranking. High search engine ranking depends on many other factors. one important factor is
where you put your keyword on your web page title.
Notice the word "where". Just including a keyword in your page title tag is not as good as if you include it at the beginning of your title tag.
so keep that in mind.
