Here is the message "Tom" posted on friday so what do you thinks going to happen?

"I know a lot of you are seeing spam comments on your page. sorry about that! The super nasty ones block your other comments. They also may not be easy to delete. Here's how to get rid of them: from your home page, click "edit profile," then click "safe edit mode" in the top right corner of the edit page. next, click the "comments" tab. from here you'll be able to delete the comments individually.

just fyi, we are in the process of taking legal action against the losers behind this comment spam. bad news is that's going to take awhile because courts are slow, good news is we won some recent cases which is going to make it easy to punish the beejesus out of them. also, we're working on a filter that will stop it from happening altogether.. that should be done in a few days."

I've never seen that type of spam. Also I think this is mostly for accounts that are phished not your personal ones.

i've seen those type of spam a lot, it's nasty. Well finally they are cracking down, every profile you visit... it's filled with spam comments. Just stay away from Myspace and hope everything is ok i guess (don't push your luck even with proxies)

heh this is not new, it came out a few days ago.

also they have been cracking down on phishers for quite some time, there are just a lot of them.

it seems every week another exploit for myspace is coming out but they are pretty quick to patch the vulnerabilities in their layout code.

nope dont think so. i spoke to some other ppl about this.

it will just get harder but still be the same. they arent cracking down on marketing on myspace just exploiting comments and blatant spam lol.

so there are legit ways to do myspace marketing and there are otherways to stay in the grey.

some people give it 3 months. lol so make as much as you can and then invest it into something long term. :-)

I am willing to wager that the so called crackdown will have NO affect at all on the spam.

Fox can sue these spammers NOW if they wanted to and make thier lives a living hell but it costs more money than its worth. Fox's lawyers are well paid and they tend to focus on higher stakes issues than comment spam and phished accounts.

they might filter out all table code. they also might start requiring approval for all html comments like they do for embed code now.

that would suck.

the table code wouldn't bother me. i've never used 'always on top' comments. however, the 'all html approval' would be a killer.
