A few months ago, I started a Ad Marketplace and Auctions website.
The idea was simple. For webmasters who want to sell ads directly to advertisers, all they had to do was sign up at Ads Marketplace & Auctions. Sell Banner Ad, Text Links to Advertisers. Website Online Advertising and post the type of ads they are selling on their websites. They could choose to sell at a fixed price or in an auction fashion.
Everything is free on the website and I am not taking any commission.

However, the website has failed to take off. Is there any wrong with this type of service?
I thought it would be a great service to the webmaster community.
Webmasters could keep 100% of the proceeds of the sale of ads on their websites and I was cutting the middle man such as google, ysm, adbrite, adengage, etc..

Why hasn't it been any interest for adspace-auctions.com?

Well ,
Im not an expert at this , but when i want to advertise at a small site , i directly approach the site owner. So i never felt the need for such a system.

Also ur site is not free to use , is not big and famous - why would someone pay for listing adds on such a site. Maybe you can have free posting for small sites and premium for large sites ( check alexa ranking or something for traffic details).

interesting site, but I agree with nqcoders. I always contacted the site directly, but it could be a good go between to find people without having to search.

Exactly jess84. My site will help people find out which website sells what kind of space and can bid for that spot. There is no commission, no fee, no nothing. The service is 100% free.

If it is 100% free... how come you never had the traffic you need? What were your methods of promoting your site? If you won't mind me asking... A great site is useless unless properly marketed.

If I was a advertiser, why would I sign up with you and not directly to the advertiser?

H Ablaye, I think you have a great site there.

In my opinion, the benefit of your site is helping webmasters link up with advertisers. So I think the most important thing, like other site, is traffic. The more traffic you bring, the more people will know your site and use your service. Maybe you should pay more attention on marketing. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with them about traffic. I really like your site a lot. Great design and a great idea. I plan on signing up although im not positive if I am ready to do direct sales of adspace on my sites but I will try it with my smaller sites.

The only thing that isn't appealing to me is browsing through the list of sites and only being like 10 sites to choose from. I would get more people starting auctions. Look on forums for people looking for advertisers. Send them a message explaning what your site is and why it might benefit them to put up an auction. This will help bring in buyers because there will be a better variety of adspace to choose from.

Good idea!!
There are a lot of good ideas in the internet and only few well known search engines that are used by everybody. And that is a problem.
Top position and you have success. If you are not there – you won’t have success.
