Okay i just got into this business recently and i thought that maybe i could some how catch attention online through my website rather then through ebay. Basically a partner of mine is selling High End Electronics and we have been mainly going through eBay for all of our sales and eBay is great because of the attention that it gives. We made decent sales and money as well, i think we average out to 15,000-20,000.

I always thought that it can be possible to start your own shop and not rely on another person or company. Therefore i setup yesterday the shop (teve21.com) Affiliated Electronics. High-End Electronics Dealer, the shop for company and i threw in some items and a little promotion for now offering free shipping. Now my problem is getting more traffic and traffic that can be fixed to my customers needs in other words high end electronics.

I was wondering if you guys can give me some advice. I am willing to put money into it but nothing above low xx,xxx. If you can maybe point me in the right direction that way i can already start making the choices of who to go with and what to do.

Thank you

Have you tried pay per click advertising on Google, & Yahoo? Not sure how much you know about PPC but if you set it up right you can get a good ROI on your ad spend. I would also work on building your brand. i've seen a number of ecommerce sites do extremely well in sales due to brand related keywords which when used in PPC can be bought for really cheap.

After discussing with a few people in the field, i am coming to a conclusion that this will be quiet impossible

See the problem is 99.99% consumers of high-end electronics know what they are looking for and they are fanatics. Its not the daily consumer market where one in ten visitors would pick an item out of the shop that they may find useful.

The issue is that to target the people who actually are fanatics is practically impossible. I got a lot of people to go with pay per click advertising on google and yahoo, the only problem is my partner expects results and i do as well however he is the one who will plunge the money into this project so if it doesnt work out, the blame is on me. I am not asking for a risk proof solution, i am hoping to hear somebody share their story or maybe even point in the right direction

So far, i have understood that the domain needs to be more brand-able and a lot of SEO work. I am still on the look out that can help and maybe even become staff, put it this way if we profit, you profit as well. I hope that i can get more feedback based on the recently updated information.

I've owned and operated a lot of internet businesses. I first got started in law school after I lost a little over 20K day trading b/t classes:blink:. I started a simple website, offering a simple online service and because of a couple simple marketing tricks, it literally exploded on me. Traffic went through the roof. I spent over 3K on advertising (and watched every single penny). And I netted over 12K the first month:2guns:. Overloaded with orders, I immediately hired a couple girls still at the undergraduate level. Things leveled out and I kept up a consistent profit. My gift to myself for graduating law school was supposed to be selling the business. But I got an incredible offer from a competitor, before I graduated, and I sold. I could go on and on about how I spent the next 11 months in Jamaica, chillin on the beach, thinking about my next internet business, but you get the idea. Anyway, my last internet business was geared towards college students, scholarships, grants, etc. In short I created a great product/service that potential and existing college students could use. As for the marketing, and seo, you gotta be creative!! I found a mass fax and email list for 95% of all colleges and university administrators, emailed and faxed all of them in 1 shot, paid a reliable group of posting, forum experts to do "things" around the clock (3 eight hr. shifts). Also had a couple of flash videos made and posted to high ranking sites. And there you have it, because the product was great and had a 24/7 helpline, the administrators took the bait. In a matter of days hits thousands of hits were coming from everywhere. In a matter of weeks, the site had almost 100 .edu inbound links. The rest is history. If you or anybody else wants help, I'd be glad to help. just pm me or give me a call 412-589-3027. Later

Try Adwords.

Use this free keyword tool to see what electronic keywords consumers are searching for...
