Stumbleupon has been proven to be one method to drive traffic to your site.

An important metric that determines your capacity to attract advertisers and even aid you in link selling (gasp!) is Alexa.com. ReviewMe, Text Link Ads and Sponsored Reviews are just three of the networks which base your ad selling strength on Alexa Ranks.

Alexa provides information on traffic levels for websites. Your Alexa rank is measured according to the amount of users who’ve visited a website with the Alexa toolbar installed.

"Stumbling" will bring huge numbers of visitors to your website. The amount of increased traffic will have an enormously positive impact on your Alexa Rank. Therefore, you will need to develop link worthy material.

Other than fellow "stumblers" surfing across your site, there is another method to increase your stumbled traffic. That technique is to announce to others that you have something worth stumbling.

Stumbling became a popular activity on webmaster oriented forums. Digital Point became an immensely popular venue for fellow stumblers to meet and notify one another of their sites. Unfortunately, the activity grew to such proportions that the DP moderators, looking at their server traffic, discontinued the process.

Other sites sprung-up to fill the void. One such site is

Social X Change | Making Great Friends With Social Networks

which exists to promote friendships among users of social networks.

Navigate to this site to promote your sites thorough "stumbleupon" friendships.

hmmm I must say I really do like the idea of a social network exchange... Where I stumble you if you stumble me... Perhaps I'll check into it... too bad that social x change site only has 6 members.

how about the idea of hiring someone to stumble your articles and content? that may sound ridiculous but it does work

actually that can work when done right... but the person stumbling must be a reputable stumbler or no one will trust his stumbles...

there are stumbe and social bookmark exchanges that you can get in where people will stumble each others webpages to build links.

Beware, multiple social bookmarks from the same IP address might alert the services of a spammer which could result in the site being banned.

stumbling is definitely a good idea, it's free so why not. Also try and get into a stumble exchange.

Social bookmarking sites really does give you traffic especially in the long run.
