I just started a new TORRENT website that I have designed and coded , and am stuck on how to get traffic. Anyone wanna help me out? give me some tips , let me know.

you need to get listed on google, yahoo etc... Submit your link to directories and maybe get on a few traffic exchanges... I have a couple good ones listed on my site if your interested. Nice site btw

And if your looking to make some cash join cashcrate and put a banner on your site... I make $800+ a month

Build lots and lots of backlinks! This will help you in SEO and also draw direct traffic to your site. Here are some ways:

Submit site to smaller search engines for maximum exposure
Directory Submissions - targeted links at high PR directories
Blog and Forum participation - to high PR and frequently crawled sites
Social Bookmarking
Press Releases
Classified Ads
Article Marketing - submit to high PR directories, could also serve as link baits
Link Exchange - with relevant and authority sites
Link Baits - for organic linking
Etc. etc.

also, you can use this method - printing your url in all pics embedded in your blog. that surely works.

Become active on other peoples blogs and leave comments, some will let you put in your url. Also join more forums like this, and put your link in your sig

what do you mean free stuff? and what are some of these torrent forums.. or do you mean like mini nova torrent forums or something.

Great comments, all. Don't forget the time element. You should schedule yourself to do at least some of these SEO activities daily. As the search engines begin to recognize you and visitors discover your site and spread the word, you can begin to grow. It happens gradually over time, but the more you do, the more surely your will reach your SEO goals.

I personally am not a big fan of classified ad sites.
Everything from 'Ad blaster' programs to manually posting ads, has netted me almost 0 results. Perhaps my ad writing skills are weak at best, but my lack of success in that area leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

A work from home business my wife is involved in, generates tons of leads from ads posted on sites like craigslist. And those ads involve people spending money. When I post ads, I am sure to point out freebies and the like.

Nothing.

The only success I have had at this point, is link exchanges. Which brought in a steady trickle of visitors, which encouraged me to start my own exchange. (who doesnt think they can do something better then the last guy?)

Try to build links in a steady manner. And the lately famous social media marketing like social networking and bookmarking through stumbleupon, digg etc. would help in getting good traffic to your website.

Just so you know, torrent sites are very popular. It's all the craze lately. Find people who are involved heavily in other sites and ask them for some word of mouth promotion.

I would get some of your files that you are offering and hand them over free on some of the more popular other torrents out there.

The trick is though that a link is included in all those files, so people who downloaded the program from the torrent, will also see an addition link to your website on that and maybe want to give it a go.
