Hi, not sure if anyone has had this experience. I have been contacting a #1 google ranked site in my niche about advertising. It appears they haven't bothered to update their site for sometime, but regardless they get huge traffic and I would like to advertise with them. I notice they have affiliate ads on their site which are out of date as well. Is it legal to use the WHOIS info to contact them about advertising or should I just let it alone?

Hey there. It's definitely not illegal to use WHOIS info to contact these individuals. That information is in the public domain, and if they choose not to anonymize themselves, that's their problem. Of course, be sure to be polite in your messages, otherwise you're not going to get anywhere as far as advertising.

I woul have to say thats one problem i dont like about online business. Companies tend to be very small so help and support are just no where to be found. If they have information on the WHOis database feel free to se it. Its public information.

Go ahead and do it to contact them. Its possible they'll be falling from their number 1 spot with old content though.
