They changed recently to get more information from ISPs and other sources. I forget which. That should help to lessen the bias from the toolbar. Alexa still won't be perfect and I still wouldn't trust the specific numbers, but the bias should be reduced and the relative comparisons should theoretically improve.

Alexa Rank should be used as a self assement measurment tool. If you go around chasing the majic nubers of rank and pr you will lose sight of the joy in web page building and participation. However if you would like to understand more about Alexa Rank, try visiting reading the "understanding Alexa Rank" found on the Webmaster Resources website.

if any site under 1,000,000 they are good, but i do not know how i increase my web site alexa rank, my site is good on google but is not under alexa rank, anyone help me

That's no problem at all

Smply download and install the Alexa ~~spyware~~ errm toolbar to your browser then visit your own website 500 times a day, every day.

If my site ever gets to under 500k, I'll be a very happy man

I think anything under 500k is great personally.

Alexa's rankings are determined by the people using the Alexa toolbar.. So only those people can contribute to the ranking of any one site.. If you have a site that does not attract the type of people that would install the Alexa toolbar, then you will never have a good Alexa rank
