Hi,
I have a travel site and I want to promote it also by blogging......please tell me what should I do-

1- Do i create a blog on wordpress or blogger and then promoting my site by posting articles to my blog and link to my website with its keywords.

OR

Do I post articles having keywords for which i want to get our site in high ranking.....

or anything whatever good to promote my site

If posible, make a blog as a subpage of your website. As you post regularly on your blogs, your blog page will be crawl more often (and so with other pages of your website!)

But if you are going to use a blog platform, I suggest you use Wordpress. Wordpress is much better than Blogger.

I wouldn't worry about keyword stuffing when blogging. I would just write about stuff that's interesting to your niche. You're more likely to get inbound links that way, and to develop a following for the blog.

I'd suggest spending a few days reading as many posts as you can at ProBlogger.

It sounds like you're thinking of a blog solely as a quick way to build links for your site and that's really missing the point of blogging.

So you would be quite happy for the usual suspects to turn up at your forums, making 1 line pointless posts simply to get a link I take it?

Key thing is to focus on the quality of the blog - as with the quality of your site.

What is the basic idea of the content of your site? How does it differ from the blog and what you might write there? What do people DO on your site?

These are the key questions. You've gotten good tecnical answers on blogger vs wordpress. I would focus on the "why" of the blog - if it is only marketing - and not in some way complimentary - you will also find that it is a pain to keep it fresh - and therefore relevant. You cant put a blog up for a month or two and expect to have major results.

Quality of the content that you provide on your blog will have the final say. You need to entice participation among your visitors as well.

The more activity and useful and insightful posts you have on your blog, the more likely you will have more active subscribers to it. The newer the content, the better - take advantage of this as Google bots love to crawl fresh content.

How about posting some special travel offers from around the web in your blog? You might be able to draw in viral traffic from people looking for a holiday deal.

Post a review on your site to your blog then promote your blog.

I would suggest that you start reading blogs about blogging, heh.

While you are there, leave a good comment with your sites name in
the commentor name box. This might bring you a little traffic and exposure.
