This week I've been working on my new website to help it get more traffic.
So I submited to over 100 directories, and I used the website http://www.submitterbot.com to submit my website to lot's of directories and bookmarking websites.

Also I've been posting ads on craigslist.org and backpage.com to promote my website.

I paid some one to write a squido lense for me, since I'm not a good writer.

Now I would like to know what else I can do to help improve my website traffic.

You will need to submitt to more directories with the anchor text(s) that you're targetting. I also suggest using www.digixmas.com for free automated submission.

While submitting to directories be sure to keep addind content to your website.

I'm targetting all the USA and users that are going to host a garage sale or are searching for one.

Call me simple (and many have) but If I were looking for a garage sale in my neighborhood I would check the local "Penny Saver" or local newspaper to see who is advertising. I would be running small ads in local papers with your URL. Key to success would be not just an incentive for them to sign up, but a way to convince them others in their area may be looking at your site to find them. Example: "place your garage sale in our site and we'll promote it for free!" - you might indicate that the listing includes promotion in their specific area/town (and then place a small ad in their local paper as part of the fee). Just a thought.

Now you need to put your website in craiglist in all states! and you need to put it in forums where people look for deals

Hey Ennio, squido lense is good make sure it is linked to your site In fact many recommend you make 3 lenses out of the one with all linked to your site as a pre sale. Now keep submitting to directories every day and write 3 articles a day and post them to your site, blogs and lenses. Good Pluck

Thanks guys... I created a squido lense yesterday, and I will work on some ads on the local newspaper, and some others.

maya01, everyday I post ads on craigslist.org but after a few minutes they remove my ad.

Try to post also on adflakes.com and lycos.oodle.com (this two drive traffics to me!)

Have you tried ppc for more traffic? You have a solid product and lots of competitors but you can still get some cheap clicks...

I do use PPC for a couple of weeks and it worked fine. The the amount of money is was paying was not the same that I was getting with the google advertisiment.

I would not waste my time on directory submissions. I am a big fan of creating quality linkbait. When done correctly it is like the energizer bunny. It keeps on giving.

First of all - SEO is not a one time job - you have to practice the same methods again and again.

To do well in Google, you need to create more and more backlinks to your website. Backlinks don't mean just directory submission, but you can do lots of things, like:

1. Forum signature
2. Social bookmarking
3. Article writing
4. Blog posting
5. Blog/article commenting

Moreover, you have to keep experimenting your keywords and keyword phrases with short delay and decide the best combination.

Beside craigslist and backpage you may post on other US free classifieds like kijiji.com, oodle.com, ePage.com, olx.com, webcosmo.com, stumbleHere.com etc...
