I have a news website where I publish my own articles. Very often I receive e-mails from people who would like to use my articles on their website. Would you allow them to publish your articles?

They will include my website link and logo but I might lose visitors to my website. People who find my article on a different website will not want to read it again on my website. People might think that the other service is much better as it not only gets articles from other services but is more up to date. Usually this is competing services.

What do you think?
Another thing is the SEO. Will I benefit from it?

As far as the SEO is concerned you may benefit from it. However your one page may not show up in Google and the other persons might you still have a link pointing back to your site. As of right now links are still important for the Google algorithm.

Think about ezinearticles.com They allow multitudes of users use their content. Yet on many topics you can still find their pages within the top 20 (and on many top 10) listings on Google. Part of their popularity is due to all of the links pointing back to them.

If it were me, yes I would let others post my content. Alternatley, you could give them partial content and say "for the complete story click here" or something as such

Just my $.02

This should answer your question: It's from an interview of Matt Cutts

Stephan Spencer
:When one's articles or product info is syndicated, is it better to have the syndicated copies linked to the original article on the author's site, or is it just as good if it links to the home page of the author? Matt Cutts: I would recommend the linking to the original article on the author's site. The reason is: imagine if you have written a good article and it is so nice that you have decided to syndicate it out. Well, there is a slight chance that the syndicated article could get a few links as well, and could get some PageRank. And so, whenever Google bot or Google's crawl and indexing system see two copies of that article, a lot of the times it helps to know which one came first; which one has higher PageRank.
So if the syndicated article has a link to the original source of that article, then it is pretty much guaranteed the original home of that article will always have the higher PageRank, compared to all the syndicated copies. And that just makes it that much easier for us to do duplicate content detection and say: "You know what, this is the original article; this is the good one, so go with that."

You might try re-writing the article by changing the Introduction or re-wording an article, then allowing others to use it on their site.

That way the article on your site stays unique.
