Hi all,

I could use a bit of help on how to target my audience for http://www.ourdesktops.com. I know who they are and where they are but I don't know the right way to get to them.

For example - I put $100.00 into a Google AdSense search campaign. That lasted about a couple of days and most people came from the keywords "desktop images". From what I can see, I didn't get any conversion. This makes me think I was targeting the wrong people with the wrong keywords.

Another example - $30.00 in a StumbleUpon campaign. That lasted just a few hours - lol! Tons of traffic, but as I expected, minimal viewing time (< 45 seconds). Probably a bad idea.

I know there's an audience for my site because a few forums that I posted to (without looking too spammy) has generated the members I have right now, ~50. I don't mind putting more resources into advertising but I don't want to do it wastefully.

How can I better advertise this site? Thank you!

I think what you need to do is do a keyword research. I tried to view your site and analyze it as well. Your main keyword is desktop, so I tried to using keyword tool from google with this keyword and it returns related keywords that has "desktop" on it. As an example, the keywords "cool desktop". It returns 4400 average search. I was thinking that people who comes to google and use this keywords might be interested in desktop comparisons and showcasing. This might be a perfect keyword to optimize your site. An estimated 50% conversion from 4400 visits is not bad. What do you think?
