Hello. I made my website few weeks ago, but I dont know how to promote it. I think that site have future and that site is good. here it is http://www.ihavetalents.com It is about dancers, singers and bands.

Start by reading through the marketing and search engine optimization threads here. It's hard to answer the general question about how to promote a site, since there are so many different things you can do.

If you're not sure at all where to start you're best bet is some general reading about marketing. We have plenty of threads here and many of those threads should link to other sources.

Promotion and Marketing boils down to one thing at it's heart. Know your audience.

So, in a change from my usual standpoint....

Yours is a site that would actually benefit from being marketed via the "Social Media" sites, simply because the audience for your kind of site are going to be the MySpace, Facebook, Bebo type of people.
But don't go to these sites and push the site at them. Join the sites and groups and integrate, be part of the community not just another link begging marketer.

Here are some tips of free promotional activities where one can really make use and boost the traffic to his/her site. These activities are quite common between webmasters to attract traffic to their site. These are some of my tips which I learned through my experience.

You should know the content for your site, that's the reason it was made for

In order to get traffic and rank, you have a lot of chances, but I suggest:
1 - Submit to free directories
2 - Post on forums
3 - Exchange links with another sites similar to your's

I was just wondering if you were different to the thousands of other who visit youtube.
If YOU don't do that, WHY would you expect others to visit your site after posting your videos?

Cause everybody says youtube will work, digit will work, del.icio.us will bring you the traffic and so on and so on. But no surprisings. there isnt amount of traffic that you will every get.

If you use social bookmarking, be sure to write a couple of original sentences there, and add relevant keyword tags.
After mentioning your site on a few different ones, wait a couple of days & then you can look at Yahoo site explorer & check the "inlinks" tab: there you may see some of the backlinks that have been created to your site. May see, not necessarily will see.

The world is flat. Just not literally. It is flat in the sense that in terms of commerce and competition all competitors have an equal opportunity. But I know what you mean
