First i would like to say it's great to be here. This is my first post so if someone could help me it would be great. i own www.iwantmaryland.com. The problem that i'm getting is that everytime i type it into google, it doesn't come up. Am i doing something wrong? Please help me.

You would have thought that yet another zero content "pixel" site that has been registered less than a fortnight would be exactly what Google would be wanting in their index!

no, its really not. You just need to read the google webmaster tools readmes and documents before you post, please.

It's a bit harsh for someone that doesn't no better.

In short, it takes time to appear in Google, and it takes more time still to appear *well* in Google.

You're going to have to really work at it, create new content, etc. rather than just throw up a pixel site and expect the traffic to come flooding in.

Sorry, but that's just the reality.

I agree probs a bit harsh, but having a web site is very competative now, and the above poster is right, you cant just throw up any old site and expect people to like it.

Your site needs a LOT of work on the layout and on ur content, you need to do a bit of research and learn a bit about how search engines work, theres no way around that im afraid !

Hardly "harsh" when it's simply a fact.

The first "pixel site" made money because it was a new concept that was cleverly marketed and well promoted, the next few hundred copycat sites may have made a bit of money for a short while. The 200,000 plus that have come after that will only make money for the people selling the turnkey scripts.

Harsh is the lesson you are hopefully learning that there is always someone giving you the "hard sell" on worthless junk, and schemes that promise untold riches are not all they are cracked up to be, simply because it will have cost you money to learn it.
Pixel advertising was a fad the came and went just as quickly, and you are getting into it long after the dust has settled.

Yes Content is King with search engines ~ Google in particularly. If you want to keep your site concept as is without adding any content then then don't expect to get indexed. You can however, promote your site in other ways e.g. word-of-mouth your area, relentless advertising and other. This type of site will take a lot of leg work on your part to succeed if you want to keep it virtually contentless.

Obviously this is a bad comparison, as TV hasn't had trouble catching on or staying with us. You could just as well say "The New York Times gets millions of 'page views' a day, so where are my millions?", except that reality doesn't work like that. The sooner you adjust to the real world, the better you'll do in it.
