What is the best way to advertise if you have no money, and are just starting out? I've heard some free advertisers aren't too good. Does anyone have any suggestions that has been there, and knows what to do?

I don't know if there is an easy way. Article submissions, directory submissions, bookmarking, link building can all be done for free.

Join social media sites like Twitter and StumbleUpon. There you can easily promote your site, find and get in touch your audience. Only thing you need to invest is a lot of time. Otherwise it is free.

+1 to previous post. Look towards social media, but make sure Your information has target audience and has a narrow subject, more effective results can be achieved.

To say it's "difficult" is a HUGE understatement! I've done it, and I continue to do it everyday.

Try: Social networks, top 100 sites, link exchanges, write articles, start a business blog, give away freebies, run contests, post your link EVERYWHERE!

I've found Y! Answers to be a good way to market for free. Answer questions that relate to your business and link back. I get several hits that way.

the good thing is that you can always research first about those ad sites before using them to make sure that your efforts on advertising on them can be useful... you can also make use of tools in the internet to see if they would be.. the ad sites traffic and indexed pages are one of the factors that i consider in doing so..

become active members in related forums is the best thing to say. if you would be participating in forums that are not related in your niche, you may get few backlinks and visitors that does not convert, since the only reason why members would visit them is out of curiosity or something, chances of converting are low...

free advertisers are not something that you should fear. they can be a very profitable when used correctly. most people try to advertise their opportunity and that is not the right thing to do, because 90 percent of people who use free advertising already have an opportunity that they are trying to advertise. this is why they have such a bad rep. the best way to use free advertising is to offer some thing for free to build your list. the best thing to offer would be a free ebook or newsletter about getting traffic, since that is what people are after when they use free advertising resources.

I would say the best way to advertise with no money is through press releases like pr.com that give you a free option. It can reach thousands of people for free, including google news and yahoo news. Also social networks and social bookmarking sites can reach a lot of people for free. The directory submissions are free and can give you more traffic for free as well, but your best bet is the free press releases. thanks

If you don't do this, you will spend not only money but a lot of time and effort before you can get a glimpse of profit. You can do a short cut by getting into online training right now. And I know they can be unfashionable, but banner and link exchange programs. Average click-thru can be around 2% which matches a lot of expensive adwords campaigns....

Either it is going to be time or money you have to put in your dues somewhere. Try articles and write a ton of them. Send them to a page that you create that compares multiple product with hyperlinks to your affiliate companies. Try reading an ebook or an online forum group like wealthy affiliates, I have learned a ton there and they have a lot of tools to help, especially if you are new

Maybe you should reconsider. A little money can go a long way in advertising if, it is spent correctly. As little as $100/month could drive up traffic if you are careful.

If your plan is to build a business, you should be willing to invest in it.

willcode4beer is right. The problem with free traffic/promotion is that its quality is almost junk. You can get it, but its not worth it sometimes. But anyway, if you're starting out with $0, you can do forum postings, article marketing and others that I reference as "sweatwork"
