If you are looking to build SEO friendly site then you must take care about website designing and website structure including Menu, Navigation and linking.

If website is static then it's better. If it is dynamic then do "URL re-writing" and make all the URLs static. Content is kind in SEO, put content on every pages and do Interlinking..

Do keyword research and make great meta tags.

These are basic things, if need more then tell...

Make a site in tale or div, don't use frame, don't over use Flash object, must use alt tags.

use static URLs,search keyword that best suitable to you.keyword in anchor text linking to internal pages.........

directory submission build inbound links to your site.blog commenting and forum posting,social bookmarking is greatly generating traffic!!!!!
