Hi Ted
Neat site concept.
While advertising and PPC are valid techniques, I use Site Build It! and have learned to build traffic for free. So I have an aversion to paying for traffic.
What I would do if I were you, is create a section on your site that allows you to add your own content. You want keyword focused content, in particular. You need to research your keywords, of course, so that you use winnable keywords related to your theme. "Winnable" would be keywords that are in demand (good search volume), but aren't overly saturated on the Web.
Then, I would write pages that focus on these keywords, that provide really useful information to visitors pertaining to your concept. This could be things like dating issues, romance, tips on approaching dating, even things to do, etc. And don't you DARE write articles on Viagra!
I'm kidding.
If you do this, and do it enough, over time you will attract the audience who searches for that information. Voila, free search engine traffic! This is a great technique because you have complete control over it and it really adds value to your site. It takes awhile, but once the search engine traffic starts, it will roll and roll. You can do a similar thing with external articles that you place on article sites with links to your site.
Which leads me to this: work on getting links from places that specialize in your niche. This will also help drive traffic to your site. I know of a great way to find links in your niche - which is to use a tool called Search It! It's free and it will help you find a vast supply of places you can approach for linking. Do a Google search for Search It! and it comes right up.
You can also search for Make Your Links Work and Make your Content Presell, which are two free ebooks to help you learn more about how to get links and driving targeted traffic to your site.
I hope this helps!
