Hi, i want to launch a site which i think is unique as it provides a really great service, and revenue will be from google ads. the problem is, im scared that when i launch my site and it becomes somewhat popular, someone else will copy what i did and make it way more successful, crushing me before i get known. I was wondering how i could prevent this please? Do I need to pay for mass email lists ? I just dont know how not to get crushed before i start. any help greatly appreciated. thanks. derek

I would not worry.
There are already millions of website out there.
So your main challenge will be to get noticed and to get regular hits.
If your idea is truly unique (which I doubt) then it means that it may not be needed or if it is a good idea it will be copied. There is not much you can do about it with millions of webmasters out there.
But I say just go ahead and get well established before others copy you.
