You can build links in UK specific forums and blogs easily. Apart from that I suggest you register the site in relevant local categories of Google and Yahoo.

try to build links from UK specific directories. Yell is going to be a very safe bet in ensuring UK traffic and/or UK ranking.

List your website at my directory - link see signature . Hope it help

Research for UK based forums, blogs and site related to your niche and comment with your anchor text. Also look for UK social networking groups and make friends and followers. You can also search the web for UK traffic deals to complement your efforts.

Let me tell you a trick. Enter some key word in Google. Open the first website that comes after your entering. Go to Alexa and check its Backlinks. Copy that links and post comments.
