Hello,
I am addicted to social bookmarking sites now and stopped using web directories. There are several reasons I think social bookmarking sites are better than free web directories.
1. social bookmarking sites approve your web site, pages, immediately.
2. you can submit any inner page to social bookmarking sites.
3. web directories take time to approve but no guanrantee.
I think my web site, new pages get indexed on search engines faster when I submit them to social bookmarking sites.

Yes, most web directories often take time to approve but no guanrantee. But in my eyes, many social bookmarking sites are also useless because most popular search engines begin to ingore them gradually.
So, what's your opinion?

Yes social Bookmarking is useful to boost up in Ranking but Web directories are also very useful to get better ranking

We could not say that directories are useless. Directory submission helps a lot to get good back links tot he site. There are lot of fast approving directories. And Social book marking also helps . So both are beneficial for the seo.

I also think nowadays SB sites are a greater place for promotion, but do not underestimate a good directory's power also....Of course, crappy ones are to avoid, but that's available for SB sites as well.

I would say social bookmarking is better coz your post will be almost permanent, not like with directories it will be post for some time then be deleted.

yes i agree but web directories ( good quality ) have their own value.. i do think social bookmarking is quick and instant but cant ignore directories either..

You are correct about directory submission... approval sometimes took 3 to 4 weeks

free web directories are less effective but if it is on trusted and reputable directories, I can say it is more effective than social bookmarking in getting backlinks.

I think social bookmarking sites are better than free web directories. Because social bookmarking site give instant link and also bookmark site, allow to submit any page of your website. You can get more visitors by submitting social bookmarking.

You are right.social bookmarking is best compare with web directories.because all directory are not good but when you post bookmarking the lot site available in high PR so you post your bookmarking is the best.you also getting good traffic from it.
