These days im helping new marketers to make the first steps in the online marketing world, via international agency for start ups.

Anyway, the most common question is always about step one, first thing to do, to learn, to take care of.

Im telling the young guys that step #1 is to choose one marketing method and to learn all about, but some are looking for wider step one, with more info to gain.

Online marketing involves many different things, and starting out can be somewhat overwhelming because there is so much to learn. Its important to not bite off more than you can chew and to concentrate on learning one thing at a time.

True you have to be certain on the product or service your going to sell. you can do some seo and sem to help your traffic and sells.

I think, the first step is planning. Planning what will be the method to use (like what you have said), planning what will be the scope of the marketing and planning what will be the good things to learn.

Hi, mate, I suggest to make a investigation to a successful online Marketing website.What's their market? Why they set the goal and How to achieve their goal ?What's the track for their marketing and what's the frustration they have met and how they solve?And what's the modern internet technique they have used?

I would say Planning as well. I mean there are many things that you can do in internet marketing including SEO, SEM and what not. It would be great if you can work out a strategy.

I think the first step should be to find a product to promote followed by consumer research. Ask, how much can I make, is there enough traffic searching for xxx, whats the competition like, how can I promote this best and so on.

After that do keyword research which should determine whether or not you should go ahead with it.
